Already Seeing the Impact of iTunes 4.9

In the last two days, I've checked my Feedburner stats for TinyPodcast, out of curiosity to see what impact, if any, the release of iTunes 4.9 would have. The results have been surprising.

According to Feedburner, I have a "circulation" of about 300 (regular, subscribed listeners). Yesterday, that jumped to 500. According to their little pie graphs, about 30 percent of those subscribers are using iTunes 4.9 (17% on Windows and 13% on Mac). I'm also getting 5000-6000 "hits" (probably non-listeners downloading shows) per day, which is a similar boost.

Hope everyone else is getting new results from all the new people out there that have a podcast aggregator. A rising tide lifts all boats...

We have seen a HUGE surge. On Monday we had about 2200 subscribers and on Thursday afternoon we have 3400.

As far as individual downloads. These are gonna get skewed a bit; because everytime someone 'double clicks' your show for what on a song; is a 30 second preview.. they are essentially downloading your show and start listening.

On that same note. When someone finds your show in the listings (via search or browse) but isn't looking at your actual show page and does the old double click.. It starts playing the oldest show in there. At first I thought this sucked.. Then I realized I can put a promo as my 'last show' and then when they look for that 30 second preview I can sell them on subscribing to my show.
